Toy Drive for Foster Children
Help make the holidays a bit more special for this year by giving a gift that really matters!

The San Francisco's Child Protection Center serves children and teens who are removed from their homes because of abandonment, neglect, or abuse and safely placed in foster homes.  This year they are asking for donations of new unwrapped toys, books, games and gifts. Please donate something for them to call their own this holiday season, as many are dealing with loss, trauma or fear. At holiday time the CPC likes to give foster parents who are accepting a new child, a gift or two to wrap for the children we are placing. Often their money is tight this time of year, as it is for all of us, and we want  to insure that the children have gifts for the holiday.  Also, some children who come into CPC on Dec 24th or 25th are given a gift as well.  Lastly, the CPC tries to give each child that comes throughout the year a gift, so that as they go into foster care they have something of their own to hold onto.  It's amazing how that having  a small thing that is their own can boost their self esteem.  Many children often come to the CPC with no possessions.  It is truly wonderful to be able to make sure these children have gifts during the holiday season and throughout the year. Having something of their own to hang onto can help them transition successfully into foster care.

Please consider extending your love and warmth to a SF foster child this holiday season! To donate please contact Jennifer Garcia at
415-206-8772.

Note: there is a shortage of presents for teen boys.
