Three Unique Art Camp Options:

1. Art Exploration Camp:

Enter into a creative world full of endless possibility with Dragonfly Designs! Divergent thinking, or the ability to look at multiple ways to solve problems, is the most valuable life skill we can offer our children and serves as the basis for this camp. Students will be led on an adventurous exploration of art mediums such as metal, clay, wax, wood, paper and leather to create innovative projects from enameling, candle making, lip balms, painting, tie dye,  jewelry design, etching, patina, paper making and so much more!

2. Capoeira - Afro-Brazilian Martial Art Camp
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art, which incorporates dance, music, and acrobatics. The Capoeira youth program is designed to foster mental and physical development of all participating youth. In the program, youth learn the life skills necessary to become accountable, independent, productive and successful adults while staying fit and having fun. Through the art of Capoeira, this program gives youth a healthy and exciting activity to put their energy into. Children in camp will work on technique while having fun. Art projects will also be incorporated into camp. Parents will be invited to watch a performance on the last day of camp.

Armando Ibarra of Dragonfly Designs is known as “Baqueta” for his length and lean movements has been studying for over a decade with Omulu Capoeira under the direction of well known, Mestre Preguica. His dedication to the art of Capoeira and Afro-Brasilian culture has cultivated a deep commitment to arts programming for youth.  He was assistant instructor at various SF Park and Recreation Centers, Mount Diablo High School and held his own classes at MAS summer program at Mission Cultural Center and Manhattanville College in New York. “Baqueta” has trained nationally and internationally in New York, Boston and Brasil. He hopes to inspire a healthy lifestyle and confidence while introducing his students to various aspects of Brasilian culture such as language, song and history.

3. Story Snaps: Digital Photography and Collage Camp

A picture can say a thousand words! Learn to tell a unique kind of story through pictures in this digital photography and collage camp. Over the course of the day, students will learn the basics of camera work (semi-professional camera, iPad, or smartphone can be used) to learn how to take photos that tell a story. After an introduction to Photoshop, campers will be provided with tools to form a collage that brings their photos to life!

María Coutinho of Dragonfly Designs, originally from Mexico City, has worked as a freelance photographer and designer after receiving a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla. She has assisted renowned Mexican photographers all around the world and spends her free time as a singer/songwriter. Her teaching philosophy is to create a community of love and understanding because kids understand better than we do that life should be enjoyed to the fullest.

4 DAY CAMP: 9 am to 3 pm $340/wk
3 DAY CAMP: 9 am to 3 pm $255/wk
EARLY MORNING CARE: 8 am - 9 am $50/wk or $18/day
AFTER CARE: 3 pm - 5 pm $85/wk or $20/day
SINGLE DAY CAMP: 9 am - 3 pm $85/day
HALF DAY CAMPS: 9 am - 12 pm (or) 12 pm - 3 pm $270/wk  (indicate morning or afternoon in comments at checkout)

*Our camps are eligible for reimbursement from childcare spending accounts*

10% Sibling Discount Siblings only please, registered for the same week of camp. Discount applied to 2nd child.
10% Early Registration Discount Register by February 25th and enjoy 10% off camp fees - (Full day & week only) (single & half day camps not elligible)
Multi Week Discount 2 weeks (calendar year) = $35.00 discount from 2nd camp; 3 weeks = $45.00 discount from 3rd camp (Full week only)

Session fee includes all materials;
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve your week in camp.
+ 5% fee for refunds of fully funded camps minus the $100.00 deposit

Remaining balance will be collected before the first day of camp (Cost of camp minus $100 deposit already paid).
